Hello, I'm Lasse "Sasu" Sainia, a 36-year-old AI developer and 3D Artist from Finland. I have over a decade of experience as a freelancer & entrepreneur and a burning passion to help small indie teams and start-ups in various design, 3D and Artificial Intelligence (AI) related projects.

AI Developer

I started experimenting with and building AI automations and applications around the time ChatGPT-3 was released. As these AI models and frameworks evolve, so does the possibilities for training, and building custom applications, allowing us to automate and streamline an ever increasing range of tasks and processes.

Framework

I build AI based context-aware, reasoning applications on Lang Chain framework. Lang Chain offers the most robust and flexible framework for AI based systems and applications that leverage various AI models, data types and APIs.

Data & Integrations

AI systems can be integrated to almost any existing system or app out there (local or cloud). Once your data is integrated or manually added (such as PDFs), it's then converted and stored to vector database, that the AI model will use as knowledge base. Usually there's a second database (PostgreSQL) that keeps track what data is added, removed or edited.

Front-End

I tend to use low-code (drag and drop) builders for front-end related development, due to the speed this method offers. My go to tools are Flutter Flow (mobile apps) and Webflow (websites), but I use many other tools as well.

3D Artist

3D has been my passion for quite a while for now. I have a full suite of 3D skills that range from animation, rigging, hard-surface modelling, texturing and character design (3D Generalist).

My 3D Toolbag

Here is a list of my most used 3D tools, with a small description of what I use it for...

Blender

Blender is my go to tool for various modelling related tasks. This tool has come a long way in recent years and has slowly replaced many tools I have used before.

ZBrush

When I'm dealing with organic shapes and I want to create hi-level details (in example create normal maps for low poly meshes) ZBrush is my go to choice.

Marmorset Toolbag 5

I use this tool mainly for baking details from hi-poly to low-poly meshes. Just released Toolbag 5 offers new texturing capabilities that seem quite promising.

Substance Designer

I use this tool quite rarely, but sometimes there's a need for custom procedural material and this is where Substance Designer shines.

Substance Painter

My go to tool for texturing and painting 3D models. Substance painter offers the most vast texturing toolset for various 3D texturing uses cases.

Character Creator 4

Character creator 4 allows me to quickly morph different humanoid characters (base mesh) that can be further finetuned in other softwares Blender, ZBrush and Substance Painter or even export to Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.

Here is a fun little (non-textured) hard-surface (poly) model example, that was modelled, rigged and rendered using Blender.


Game DEV

I'm currently expanding my knowledge on Unreal Engine 5 game logic (Blueprints and C++) and experimenting different ways to utilize and integrate my AI systems to drive NPC dialogue and animation in the game engine,

Unreal Engine 5

With each update the Epic team just keeps delivering, making Unreal Engine 5 my go to game engine. This (monster of a) tool & engine is used to create AAA quality games, movie and now even in commercial (motion design) projects.

Unity + Spatia.io (Metaverse)

I use Unity for Metaverse based game environments that are hosted in Spatial.io servers. These environments work in browsers, mobile, tables, VR and AR devices.
